Coach HA

Heather Ann (Coach HA) is a passionate coach with extensive experience in running and ultimate frisbee. She began her athletic journey in high school cross-country and track in Connecticut and continued as a distance runner at Kenyon College, focusing on events from the 1500m to the 5000m, including the steeplechase.

Coach HA has supported youth and adult runners in cross-country and road racing. Recently, she had the opportunity to coach an incredible and driven group of young athletes—the Rain City Flyers 13-14 girls team—who achieved an impressive second-place finish at the 2023 USATF Junior Olympic National Championship. An avid runner herself, Heather Ann has completed over a dozen marathons, including Boston, NYC, and Chicago, and is preparing for her first 50K ultramarathon in March 2025. Her passion for continuing coaching was inspired when her ten-year-old son discovered his love of running, which led to her work with the Rainier Beach Track Club.

In ultimate frisbee, Coach HA co-founded the Girls’ Ultimate Movement (GUM) to promote opportunities for young female athletes and served as head coach of the DiscNW Youth Club Championship (YCC) U17 girls’ team, leading them to four consecutive national titles. Her career highlights also include winning a world championship with the Women’s Masters USA Beach National Team.

With a commitment to youth development and a lifelong passion for athletics, HA empowers athletes to embrace challenges, find joy in their journey, and achieve their personal best.
